Understand the water loss before planning the repair.
Start with what you are seeing
A falling waterline can have more than one cause. Note how often you add water, whether the loss changes when the equipment is running, and any wet areas around the pool or equipment. Share those observations when requesting an inspection.
Detection and repair are separate steps
We review symptoms and use targeted inspection or testing to narrow down the source. Once there are findings, repair recommendations can be scoped separately. Detection is not a blanket promise that every repair is included or that every issue can be resolved in one visit.
Plan the work around the findings
Repair scope depends on where the problem is and how it can be accessed. Surface, equipment, and underground plumbing issues can require different work. Before approving a repair, review any access, digging, or finish-restoration items included in the estimate.

ANSWERS BEFORE YOU BOOK
Pool leak questions
Have a question about your pool? Our office can help you plan the next step.
How can I tell whether my pool is leaking or losing water to evaporation?
A dropping waterline alone does not identify a leak because pools also lose water through evaporation and use. Note how often you refill, recent weather and whether the change is unusual for your pool. A properly performed bucket comparison can help assess evaporation, but it cannot locate a leak.
Does leak detection include the repair?
Leak detection and repair are separate scopes. Detection is the investigation used to identify the source of water loss. The repair depends on what is found and where it is located. Ask for the findings and proposed repair scope before deciding how to move forward.
Will finding a pool leak mean breaking up my deck?
That depends on the leak's location and the access needed for the repair. A visible equipment leak and a buried plumbing problem can call for very different work. The detection findings should guide any proposal for opening a surface, along with a clear explanation of restoration responsibilities.
What information should I gather before requesting leak detection?
Record when you first noticed the loss, how often you add water and any recent pool work. Photos of the waterline, wet areas and equipment can also help. Mention an automatic fill system if you have one, and describe any changes you have already observed during normal operation.
Should I investigate a leak before resurfacing my pool?
Yes, unexplained water loss should be evaluated while you plan the renovation. A new interior finish does not establish where existing water loss is coming from. Identifying the problem first helps you discuss the repair and resurfacing as clear scopes and plan the order of work.
How should I prepare for a leak inspection?
Arrange safe access to the pool and equipment, secure pets and tell us about gate or community entry requirements. Have recent service notes and previous repair information available. Ask the office whether the water level, automatic fill or equipment settings need any preparation; do not drain the pool or change settings just for the visit without instructions.
How is a repair estimate handled after detection?
The findings guide a separate repair proposal. Review the work area, access needs, materials, any opening or excavation, and who is responsible for restoring affected finishes. Ask which items are included and which need separate coordination before approving the work. Further investigation or another visit may be needed; an inspection does not guarantee that every leak will be found or repaired in one visit.
